Alameda - Ilusiones

Año de publicación: 1995

Subgénero: Rock andaluz, rock latino, pop.

Comentarios:

Year of release: 1995

Sub-genre: Andalusian rock (rock + flamingo), latin rock, pop.

Comments:

Features a re-recorded and edited version of the band's classic "Amanecer En El Puerto", and another version of "Aires De La Alameda" (both from their
debut album).

Between 1979 and 1983,
Alameda released their four most acclaimed albums: "(Untitled)", "Misterioso Manantial", "Aire Cálido De Abril" and "Noche Andaluza". They disbanded shortly after. The band reformed in the mid 90's, and released two albums: "Dunas" (1994) and this one. Both saw the light of day in an independent label (with no involvement from CBS/Columbia, the band's previous label); given their short pressing, and their probably poor distribution, these albums are nowadays very hard to find, and almost collectors' items.

The content of "Ilusiones" is extremely conservative and rarely goes beyond the song format. Commercial concessions are even more noticeable than in
"Aire Cálido" and "Noche Andaluza"; they proved commercially and critically fruitless.

In 1998, the band released through the catalan label PICAP a double live album called "Concierto 20 Aniversario" ("20 Anniversary Concert") to celebrate its twentieth anniversary. Some of the special guests who joined the band during the concert were
Gualberto (ex-Smash), Manuel Rodríguez (singer of Medina Azahara) and Juan Carlos Romero, and the insufferables El Barrio and Niña Pastori. After a thirteen year absence, the band released "Calle Arriba" in 2008.

REPOST: Noel Soto - Alfa Y Omega (FLAC + MP3 320 kbps)

Recortes de prensa del disco / Newspaper clippings upon the album's release

Año de publicación: 1975

Subgénero: Sinfónico, cantautor, rock and roll, pop.

Comentarios:

Sub-genre: Symphonic, singer-songwriter, rock and roll, pop.

Comments:

This album has already been posted before, but it was a 160 kbps rip. This time, I've uploaded a FLAC rip as well as an 320 kbps MP3 rip.

Noel Soto is a cult artist who enjoyed moderate success in the seventies and eighties thanks to a handful of singles, albeit he's well away from mainstream audiences nowadays. His work has little or nothing to do with progressive rock, but in 1975, being this genre still in vogue, he released "Alfa Y Omega", and ambitious concept album that was labeled then as "the first rock opera produced in Spain" (see second picture above). This is what the artist had to say about it: "It was, actually, a suite, more than a rock opera, since every song continued the argument of the previous one. It was a risky thing to do on my side, whose commercial results did not pay off. It's the only of my albums off my current repertoire (playlist)."

At-Mooss - Morphing Synthesizers I

Año de publicación: 1996

Subgénero: Tecno, electrónica, espacial. Instrumental.

Comentarios:

"Morphing Synthesizers" is a trilogy released individually; the volume available in this post is the first one. Its content can be labeled as "accessible eighties electronica" (think of
Programa or the more conservative stuff by eighties synthetists). After this trilogy the band released Cyclotron, a way more ambitious album and more in the Berlin school vein.
