Elbicho es una banda que podría enmarcarse dentro del género "mestizaje" (un género musical bastante popular en Barcelona, sobre todo entre homosexuales), si bien su sonido se nutre de múltiples influencias. En este disco en concreto, destacan elementos del rock progresivo, más concretamente en la épica "La Suite", una composición instrumental de quince minutos. Escuché otros discos de Elbicho, pero ninguno tiene suficientes elementos del rock progresivo como para atraer la atención del aficionado medio de este género, por ende tampoco para justificar otro post aquí.

Elbicho's sound is much linked to "mestizaje", quite a popular musical genre here (specially among homosexuals) that could be described as a mix of rap, hip hop, flamenco, reggae, ska, dub and world music (among others). In spite of this, the band's sound is a whirlwind of influences; most notably progressive rock on this particular album. The best example is "La Suite", an epic fifteen-minute instrumental. I've heard other albums by Elbicho, but unfortunately they're not prog related enough to attract the attention of lovers of this genre, therefore neither to justify another Elbicho post here.

Primer disco, y único con el cantante "Juanma". Para el siguiente (el mucho más serio Jesús De Chamberí) la banda reclutaría a José Andrëa. Los elementos progresivos en esta primera referencia son casi nulos, a excepción de la épica "Mägo De Oz", de nueve minutos. Este debut es generalmente considerado el peor disco de la banda.
Incluye una versión de Gerdundula de Status Quo y otra de Gimme Some Lovin' de The Spencer Davis Group.

First album, and the only one wih singer "Juanma". The band recruited José Andrëa for their second (and much more serious) album. The progressive elements are pretty much absent on this one; only the nine-minute epic closer "Mägo De Oz" can be labeled as progressive. This debut is usually regarded as the band's worst.
Features two covers by Status Quo and The Spencer Davis Group (Gerdundula and Gimme Some Lovin' respectively).
